松茸が絶滅危惧種に！？

秋の味覚・秋の高級食材といえばマツタケを皆様想像されると思いますが、今そのマツタケに大きな変化が訪れようとしています。
世界の自然を守る活動をしている保護連合（IUCN)は、このままだと地球からなくなるかもしれない動植物「絶滅危惧種」をまとめた最新の「レッドリスト」を発表しました。その中に高級キノコとして知られる「マツタケ」が初めて入ったのです。
絶滅危惧種は、なくなる恐れが大きい方から順に１～３番目のグループに分けられているのですが、マツタケはその中の３番目のグループに属しました。
マツタケは香りがよく、日本料理では、秋に楽しむごちそうとされてきました。日本以外にも、中国、ヨーロッパなどの松林に生えていますが、世界の松林の面積はこの５０年ほどの間に３０％以上少なくなっているそうです。日本では、松を枯らしてしまう害虫が広がった影響が大きいとされています。
これから先、マツタケの価値が上がり、価格も高騰していくのかもしれません。
